Born and raised on Guam, Senator Jesse A. Lujan has dedicated his life to service through public office, business leadership, and community engagement. A proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, he pursued higher education at San Diego State University, where he launched a successful career as a professional bodybuilder and entrepreneur in California.

From 1981 to 1990, Jesse made his mark on the national stage, earning titles such as Mr. San Diego, Mr. Southern California, Mr. California, and the prestigious Mr. America. In 1984, he became an IFBB professional bodybuilder and later co-owned World’s Gym in San Diego. He also served as Vice-Chairman of the National Physique Committee in Southern California, reflecting his leadership in the health and fitness industry. In 1991, Jesse returned to Guam to serve as Health & Fitness Coordinator at the Department of Parks & Recreation, followed by his appointment as Deputy Director of the Guam Health Planning and Development Agency. He later transitioned to the private sector as Operations Director of Tarza Magical Adventure Zone.

Senator Lujan’s political journey began in 2002 when he was elected to the 27th Guam Legislature as a Republican. He was reelected in 2004 and 2006, serving in leadership roles including Majority Leader and Majority Whip. He championed critical initiatives such as Guam’s Open Skies policy and infrastructure improvements. Between legislative terms, he stayed connected with the public as host of the popular radio and television talk show The Buzz on KUAM from 2009 to 2018.

In 2022, he returned to elected office, securing a seat in the 37th Guam Legislature with a platform focused on fighting inflation, rebuilding tourism, and reducing crime. As Vice Chair of the Committee on Maritime Transportation, Air Transportation, Parks, Tourism, Higher Education and the Advancement of Women, Youth, and Senior Citizens, and a member of several key legislative committees, Senator Lujan brought back a wide range of expertise and leadership to the table. In 2025, he was elected re-elected into the 38th Guam Legislature and now serves as Majority Leader. Senator Lujan continues to advocate for economic growth, affordable living, and a safer, stronger Guam.
